 New Pre-arranged Absence Policy!! Pre-arranged absences must be approved by school administration for any planned absences from school, if they are to be recorded as excused. The students’ academic status and prior attendance history will be considered in this decision. This applies to absences that would not normally be excused (see district attendance procedures) such as extended vacations, birthdays, or any extra ‘days off’.  Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students Enroll at Chappelow!!
This year we have 18 DHH students enrolled at Chappelow and we are truly
excited to have them as part of our student body. Teachers and current
students are going to be learning sign language this year and working
hard to help make this a smooth transition and welcoming environment for
these students. The new Coordinator for the DHH program at Chappelow is
Kristy Murdock and she may be reached at 348-1257 if you have any
questions!! Join us in making these students and their families feel
right at home with the Cheetahs!
 NEW TARDY POLICY!! In an effort to maximize instructional time, we encourage students to arrive at school on time and be prepared to learn. This Tardy Procedure will be effective beginning 2nd semester of the 2007-08 school year. The policy addresses late arrivals, elementary tardies and middle school tardies.  2nd-5th Gr. to UCCC for a free show!!!
The UCCC is bringing us another free show!! "The Lion Who Sang with the Birds" by the African percussion group, Kutandara. Its an African folk tale and the kids studied Africa in 1st gr. We'll leave at 12:30 p.m. and return at approx. 2:00 on September 17, 2008. You will receive permission slips early September! Be sure to return this asap so your child does not miss out on this incredible opportunity!! Any questions, please contact Mrs. Pierce!
 EvansFest Parade
Information!!
The theme this year
is First City in Weld
County. Our committee decided
to go with a First School House in Evans idea. Our float will consist of a semi-
truck bed platform with an open frame of a one-room school house
with students, a teacher, student desks, an old stove, chalkboard,
flag, etc. We will be having a class in session with various
information about early Evans being shared by individual students. The back of the float will be children dressed in
19thcentury clothing
(Evans School, Est. 1869), playing outside of the school building
and several others can also walk along beside the float, carrying
school books, playing, etc. By the way, if you have any antique
stuff that would look good on the float, let us
know.
We would love to have anybody who would
like to help join us for Fridays' float building and during the
parade on Saturday, Sept. 13th! We'll start in the cafeteria around
5:00pm and share more information about the parade and costumes at
that time.
