Chappelow K-8 Arts Magnet School staffs two full-time School Counselors. We also staff a School Psychologist and a School Social Worker who are both shared with other schools.
Mission
The mission of the school counseling program at Chappelow Arts Magnet is provide all students with a comprehensive school counseling curriculum focused on their growth in academic, career, and personal/social domains. Together with teachers, administrators, and parents, school counselors will foster a caring community devoted to educating the whole child through the arts.
Vision
The students of Chappelow Arts Magnet are creative thinkers and high-achieving learners who graduate high school college and career ready, fully prepared for success in a demanding 21st century society. All students participate in a rigorous curriculum and arts-rich learning opportunities designed to develop their academic interests and artistic talents supported by a comprehensive school counseling program that strives to facilitate partnerships between the school, family, and community. As life-long learners and caring community members, our students passionately pursue their interests, using their creative talents to make a positive difference in our school and the world.
School Counselors at Chappelow K-8 Arts Magnet School Believe:
- All students can achieve at their highest levels and demonstrate their readiness for success in a demanding 21st century society.
- The individual ethnic/cultural and learning needs of all students inform the creation of a school counseling program that is: comprehensive in scope, preventative in design, and developmental in nature.
- School Counselors must be advocates for all students, creating pathways for equitable access to a rigorous curriculum and arts-rich learning opportunities designed to further a student's personal and academic goals. School Counselors must also serve as liasons between the student and his/her school environment and his/her home environment in order to facilitate self-directed personal and academic growth.
- All students deserve to reap the academic, personal, and college/career benefits from participating in a comprehensive school counseling program that is planned, managed, delivered, and evaluated by a licensed professional school counselor.
- School Counselors must be active participants in the evaluation of data that informs the development of any school counseling program designed to promote student achievement.
- Applying the ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors empowers school counselors to maintain the highest levels of integrity, leadership, and professionalism. They guide school counselors' decision making to ensure the highest standard of moral principles is used to maximize the academic, personal, and career development of every student.

Safe2Tell Colorado
Safe2Tell is an anonymous service--no one will ever ask the name of the person reporting the concern, just the information of the person you are concerned about. Students use Safe2Tell to report: bullying, stealing, threats, fights, drugs, weapons, self-harm, suicidal or homicidal ideation, or concerning online/social media activity. The purpose of Safe2Tell is to keep students safe and healthy. Live intake workers are responding to reports 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
